What is Walmart?

Have you ever been to one?  What is it like?

To look at multinational corporations, we need to look at one corporation and this will be Walmart.

From the Walmart Corporation

Check out the following sites to help you start your study of Walmart.

http://www.walmart.com/

On this site you can see all that they sell.  Make sure you scroll to the bottom of the first page and look at the “Stores and Corporate Section”  as well as the “About Walmart.com”.

Here is the corporate website: http://walmartstores.com/

Of special interest is the Walmart Ethics page.  What do you think of this?

If you are in Business and Management, you will be interested in the annual reports.

June 7th, 2011 No comments

What is a global issue?

The term “global issues” refers to issues that have an impact at the national and regional level, but which also reach beyond national frontiers and can only be addressed with the coordination of more than one country’s efforts. This option provides the opportunity to consider how particular issues are addressed at both the national and international level.

Role of international organizations

Resource management

Racism

Prejudice

Poverty

Famine

Multinational companies

Immigration/emigration

Human rights

Health issues

The environment

Drugs
